My Journey in the World of Technical Diving

My journey into the depths of technical diving has been shaped by a deep fascination for the unknown and a relentless pursuit of precision. Over the years, I have accumulated a wealth of certifications, including TDI Advanced Trimix Diver and PADI Trimix Diver. My skill set further extends to speleology, DAN First Aid, Gas Blending, and technical servicing as a certified Apeks Service Technician.

A pivotal chapter in my development came through my training under the legendary Mark Ellyatt, one of the few humans to have descended beyond 300 meters. Ellyatt, a world record holder at 313 meters, is also the creator of the advanced decompression software Decocheck —a tool that refined how I understood depth, time, and risk.

Equally transformative has been my collaboration with my mentor and friend, George Petrou, Advanced Trimix Instructor Trainer and one of the true pioneers of technical diving in Greece. His mentorship has been instrumental not only in the evolution of my diving philosophy but also in refining the techniques and values I apply both underwater and in life.

Through every dive, every descent, every silence at depth—I carry the ethos instilled by these guiding figures: discipline, humility, and an unyielding respect for the underwater world. This journey is not simply about going deeper. It is about becoming better, safer, and more connected with the hidden realms below the surface.

My Diving Evolution

My journey into the world of technical diving has been a long and transformative one. Over the years, I have earned an extensive range of certifications, including TDI Advanced Trimix Diver and PADI Trimix Diver. My expertise extends beyond open-circuit diving—I am a certified speleologist, an Apeks Service Technician, and hold credentials in DAN First Aid and emergency gas blending.

These certifications do more than qualify me to perform complex dives—they empower me to share knowledge, support others, and mentor new generations of divers navigating the underwater world.

As a co-founder of the Deep Trimix Activities Diving Team, I’ve had the privilege of participating in some of the most ambitious exploration projects in Greece. Chief among them is the mapping of the legendary Arkadiko Cave, and the first-ever detailed documentation of the Korfos Cave system—a subterranean world of geological and historical richness.

In parallel with exploration, I have delved into the demanding art of underwater videography. Years ago, I was among the first to capture deep shipwrecks on film. One of my proudest achievements is the documentation of the Monrosa wreck, resting at a depth of 90 meters—a site I visited seven times to complete a comprehensive audiovisual archive. Long before the rise of action cameras, I also created the first in-depth footage of the German submarine U-133, offering a new perspective on underwater military history.
